Louis Chin

Louis Chin started his wine career in 2004, it was a business founded by chance.

In 2004, he was leading a public listed technology company in Singapore. On a special occasion, he saw and tasted New Zealand wine for the first time. Like the saying goes, the rest is history. He fell in love with New Zealand wines and decided to team up with his New Zealand technology partner, together they formed Maarama Valley Wines Inc to distribute New Zealand wines in South East Asia region.

For about two years, Maarama focused on boutique New Zealand wineries, they drunk, breathed, and promoted only New Zealand wines. When Singapore market accepted New Zealand wines, they began to bring in other new world wines to compliment Maarama’s portfolio. Today, Maarama offers a range of new world wines including New Zealand, Australia, South Africa, Chile, and California wines.

Other than wine distribution, Louis has a keen interest in wine education as well. He conducts not only wine talk but also wine teaching for individual and corporations. Today, his main focus is in Fine Wine Tour. He organizes and brings wine enthusiastic to New Zealand and Australia for a relax yet educational experience in the world of wines.
